Welcome to the Cariboo Central Interior Poultry Producers’ Association website!
As we ready the mobile processing unit for the 2013 season, we have been looking at various operating models. We are working on increasing productivity, in order to lower costs. This year, we will be processing only broilers and turkeys. Past experience has shown us that it is not economical for us to process old layers, roosters, and water fowl. If you are planning on having ducks or geese, talk to Margaret or Steven Bishop about a test kill of a few of your birds. After our 2011 experience of spending 3 hours on one duck, we are hesitant but willing to learn.
New members are always welcome. A membership form can be found on this website. At our general meeting, following theAGM we will be presenting out pricing, schedules and operating model.
It is the goal of CCIPPA to produce a quality product using eager and competent staff. Staffing is an issue, so we are asking the producer to participate on the line. If you would like to volunteer, even though you are not a producer or your birds are not ready, please contact us.
We are a group of farmers like yourself, who are very busy, and are working to organize a slaughter season and operate CCIPPA and the MPU. We believe in this project and know that many people will benefit from having inspected poultry slaughter. Don’t be shy to get involved!
We look forward to working with you.
